According to the International Monetary Fund, Angola is expected to regain its position as the third largest African economy, with a projected gross domestic product growth (GDP) of 3.5% in 2023, and start a sustainable path of growth in the five years to come, transforming from a state-led and oil-funded model into economic diversification and private-sector-led growth model. With a young population of 38 million and a growing middle class, Angola is also a door to the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) region, with a population of approximately 380 million people.

World Economics estimates Angola’s GDP to be $393 billion in 2023 – 88% larger than official estimates of $210 in purchasing power terms.
